Holiday Round-up

current mood: working

Wow, I've been really bad about posting these last few months. Suckage! I'll keep this brief and just go over how the holidays were.

As I mentioned, [info]vegettoex and I got a new kitty at Christmas. Other things I received were:

- All of the Marvel Comics House of M storyline from [info]vegettoex (I'm VERY impressed that he got me this... something I didn't even ask for, but the man knows me so well, he got it anyways). Unlike the negative hype I've been seeing for this storyline on the Internet, *I* actually really enjoyed it.
- Astonishing X-Men #2 (I never did get it when it first came out; it was sold out everywhere)
- Angelic Layer DVD Thinpak set
- Lots of manga
- Batman Begins
- Sin City (movie)
- clothes
- Apples and Apples (fun as SHIT board game!)
- Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture 2 (DVD board game)
- Wolverine's Revenge (video game)
- X-Men Mutant Academy 2 (video game)
- bath things
- uhhh, I forget what else!

New Years was relaxed. Mike and I went out to dinner, and played some Mario Party 7. The next day, us, my parents, my sister and boyfriend, and her friend, went to see The Producers. Now, my family and I saw the show in previews when it was first on Broadway, so I was a bit influence/biased. I can't say I liked the movie as much. Anytime I wanted to clap after a song, I couldn't, because it was a movie theater, and not a theater-theater, and I felt retarded for wanting to do so. I'm glad [info]vegettoex made the effort of going, since he hates musicals (hah, 2 in one month, and now he's set for life).

This weekend may prove to be mad busy, between a Staten Island pizza run, and possibly the This is Otakudom DVD commentary recording session at our place on Sunday. We shall see! I'm also gonna be designing the S.T.E.A.M.: The Movie for Scott, so I'm quite excited about that, too.

Pwned

I still haven't seen S.T.E.A.M.- I hope that one of the many cons I'm planning on going to this year has and it showing it so I can finally see it!

Oh, and Apples to Apples is a card game. ;)

"Oh, and Apples to Apples is a card game. ;)"

Well... yes, yes it is. :D And as such, I love how low-maintenance it is!

If you don't get a chance to see STEAM at a con, you can get it on DVD (once we finish the Otakudom DVD, and then need to make the STEAM DVD).

It is funny I can't help but notice all the cool stuff you got for christmas. I too liked the house of M. It had soo many memorable moments, especially the stuff with Peter, but I was dissappointed with the ending. I am not really able to follow all the follow up storylines that have spun out of house of M.

I am also curious what you think of Wolverine's revenge. I thought it was a decent game, I never finished it though. Just in case you didn't know Mark Hamill does Wolverine's voice in that game. It is soo kickass.

I was actually happy with the end of House of M (and yeah, the Spider-Man stuff was gut-wrenching). :) At first, I thought the concept of it stunk (just a way to clean up all the useless characters), but the aftermath so far is AMAZING, *especially* the new X-Factor (definitely pick that up if you haven't read it yet). "Son of M" is something I think I wanna get, too. I liked the first issue of HoM, didn't care for 2-4, but I loved 5-8. I thought it was kinda hard to follow in those early issues, since I don't know who most of the Avengers are.

I haven't cracked open Wolverine's Revenge yet, but now that Mike is deeply immersed in his Nintendo DS, I guess I should be playing a game, too. :D

I too share Mike's obssession with the DS, although I just finished Castelvania so I will probably move onto something else and pay more attention to my nintendog

can't stop won't stop

Man... I all feel left out of X-MEN yet again. I saw House of M just as it was firing up in the summer, but didn't have money to drop on it till much later. Now I'm buying Seven Soldiers, which is a bunch of miniseries that DC is putting out, that's good and all, but not Marvel. And from what I understand, having ALL the House of M is a LOT of comic books. I understand it went into Fantastic 4, Spider-Man, X-Men, and like one or two other main titles?

Aw hell. I'm sorta shocked though, I read on the wiki a little more about things, and it is kinda nuts. Iceman has limited abilities and Jubilee got the total shaft? Dude... :(

Also, have you read any Ultimate X-Men stuff? I sorta have like ten boners over it, I think. Just because it's a new continuity that I can follow. Ohh man, Marvel owns my soul...

It's true that HoM took place in many series. Mike bought me the main book (Simply "House of M") and the Spider-Man issues. If you JUST get the main HoM, you'll be fine. Everything else is only supplemental, and doesn't really affect anything (which kinda sucks).

I read a little Ultimate X-Men, but didn't care for it. Dunno why, though. ;_;

Darn tootin'! Well, part of the problem is that I don't remember how to drive there. I kinda relied on you for that. ^^;;
